My NFT Approach

It is my intent to be upfront and transparent about my approach to NFTs and the plans I have going forward. I want there to be clarity around my artistic intentions so that current collectors and potential collectors can make informed decisions about supporting my art and journey as a digital artist. Especially since we are in the relatively early days of Web3.

So, I've decided to lay out my approach in clear language that explains what I'm creating and what you can expect to see from me. Of course, change is a natural part of being human, so my approach may evolve over time as I grow as an artist, as Web3 matures, and as we all discover new ways to share and experience art.

What am I creating?

I am creating hand-drawn 1/1 digital art illustrations. Each piece is created by me using primarily Adobe Fresco. Most pieces take me 3-5 days to complete, but some pieces do take even longer, especially since I'm prone to overthinking and obsessing over details.

You can expect new pieces from me on a consistent basis every week or two, dependent upon the chaos of my IRL. Working as an artist is my full-time career and has been for the past 10 years. So, you can rest assured that I'm here for the long haul.

1/1 Series Collections

Available on: OpenSea

My 1/1 Series Collections are available on OpenSea. Each series collection is made up of 1/1 edition NFTs that belong to the same series. Pieces within a series are connected thematically and stylistically through the exploration of a specific topic. Every collection is an ongoing series until it feels complete to me. I do not set a target for a specific number of pieces within the series at onset, because that would be disingenuous since I cannot forecast where my artistic inspirations will take the series over time. However, I do state my intent for the maximum number of pieces I will not exceed in each series in order to set expectations about supply.

1/1 Stand-Alone Pieces

Available on: TBD

My Stand-Alone Pieces are made up of 1/1 edition NFTs that are one-off pieces that do not belong to any series. I will update this section when I decide where these pieces will be available. At this time I have not minted any stand-alone 1/1 pieces.

Optional Physical Print: As a way of thanking collectors for believing in my art, I'm offering a gift of a physical print to the first primary collector of each 1/1 NFT. Learn more details on my Optional Physical Print Gifts page.

Why NFTs?

The simple answer is: I believe in the future of Web3 and I want to be a part of it. I'm genuinely excited about the potential that exists, but I also know that potential can only be realized if people get off the sidelines and take a seat at the table to contribute and participate in building with intentionality.

I'm enthusiastic about making art accessible and less intimidating, removing barriers, and avoiding gatekeepers and elitism. Art is for everyone, art is necessary, and it has the power to build bridges. My goals and plans in Web3 do not end with my NFT artwork, there is a lot more my entrepreneurial heart wants to build and contribute in the future.

A more in-depth answer would also mention: I spent 10 years working as a digital artist primarily in the surface design and POD (print-on-demand) arena. Over time I came to feel that my artistic expression was constrained and limited. I also became increasingly frustrated by the unfair pay and treatment of artists. I decided that I wanted to break away from that more traditional setting to pursue more free expression and value myself more appropriately as an artist.
