FAQ

It is my intent to be upfront and transparent about my approach to my career and NFTs along with the plans I have going forward. I want there to be clarity around my intentions so that current collectors and potential collectors can make informed decisions about supporting my art and journey as a digital artist. Especially since we are in the relatively early days of Web3.

I've decided to lay out my approach in clear language that answers potential questions and explains what I'm creating and what you can expect to see from me. Of course, change is a natural part of being human, so my approach may evolve over time as I grow as an artist, as Web3 matures, and as we all discover new ways to share and experience art. If you have a question that isn't answered in this FAQ or elsewhere on my website, please don't hesitate to reach out to me and start a conversation.

What are you creating?

I am creating hand-drawn 1/1 digital art illustrations. Each piece is created by me using primarily Adobe Fresco and occasionally Adobe Photoshop.

My style vacillates between melancholy and playful—a reflection of my personality. Both dark and whimsical details are interwoven in my illustrations that favor bold lines and are often reminiscent of comic book art. Currently, I like to work with a limited yet bold color palette contrasted with grayscale. In my artwork, I frequently touch upon topics of fate, time, mortality, regret, and love. I'm often inspired by surrealism, cyberpunk, memento mori, and vanitas.

Through my work, I invite the viewer to stand with me on the edge of my mind for a vulnerable exploration of my inner world and my tendency toward overthinking and obsession.

Most of my pieces take me 3-5 days to complete, but some pieces do take even longer, especially since I'm prone to overthinking and obsessing over details.

How often will new artwork be dropped?

You can expect new pieces from me on a consistent basis. Typically every week, depending upon the chaos of life.

How is your artwork made available to collect?

My artwork will be made available in the following ways. Please allow me to explain:

1/1 Series Collections

Artwork minted on my own smart contract via Manifold.xyz as 1/1 NFT with optional physical print gift available for the primary collector.

My 1/1 Series Collections are available to buy on OpenSea. Each series collection is made up of 1/1 edition NFTs that belong to the same series. Pieces within a series are connected thematically and stylistically through the exploration of a specific topic. Every collection is an ongoing series until it feels complete to me. I do not set a target for a specific number of pieces within the series at onset, because that would be disingenuous since I cannot forecast where my artistic inspirations will take the series over time.

Optional Physical Print: As a way of thanking collectors for believing in my art, I'm offering a gift of a physical artist proof print to the first primary collector of each 1/1 NFT. Learn more details on my Optional Physical Print Gifts page.

Do you sell prints or merch of 1/1 NFT artwork?

I print 2 (sometimes 3) AP artist proof physical prints for each of my 1/1 NFT artworks. Each artist's proof print is signed, numbered, and labeled appropriately.

I offer an artist proof print as an optional gift to the first primary collector of each 1/1 NFT.

I retain the remaining 1 or 2 artist proof prints for my archive collection and will use them in exhibitions, shows, loaning to institutions, private/public displays, and other uses as I see fit. I reserve the right to gift or even sell any of the artist proof prints that I retain.

I will not print any additional prints of these artworks beyond the limited artist proof prints. I do not print merch with these artworks.

Please note: As the artist, I retain all copyrights and licensing rights to my artwork. However, I do grant a limited license to the NFT holder while they hold the NFT (see license information page).

What can I do with the NFT that I buy?

I grant a limited license to each NFT holder that reads as follows and is included in the description of every minted NFT:

NFT holder can display privately, or in commercial and non-commercial settings, or in groups with an unlimited number of participants. The License includes unlimited use and display in virtual or physical galleries, documentaries, and essays by the NFT holder, as long as the artist is credited. Provides no rights to create commercial merchandise, commercial distribution, or derivative works. Copyright remains with the artist.

What are your marketing and promotional efforts as an artist?

I am active on social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) building community and promoting my artwork on a daily basis.

I also make consistent efforts to submit my work for consideration to arts publications, galleries, exhibitions, events, and more. You can check my calendar to see recent and upcoming activities. My full list of exhibitions, publications, awards, and other achievements can be seen on my artist cv. If you are a current holder of one of my pieces  (and I have your contact information), I will always make an effort to reach out and let you know about exhibitions or publications of the piece so we can both share in the excitement and you can feel confident about the value of the artwork increasing over time.
